The Branding: Beauty. Nature. Proximity.
“Defining The Deermar began with recognizing its promise as an exceptional property in Park Slope. We enjoyed the challenge of weaving the building’s heritage, design, and function into a cohesive and appealing campaign narrative.”

The Building: Intersection of Design and Culture
Design
Stemming from the structure of the building itself, glass walls converge with brick and mortar, forming a distinct Y-shape. Everything in the building’s design was conceived as a contribution of livable and workable art to the environment, responding to our own vision of what architecture should portray.
Culture
The Y shape symbolizes the intersection: classic values meet the modern mindset; culture meets design; a livable neighborhood meets an urban setting. As a building, The Deermar is a new and exciting landmark honoring the heritage of its original site. This location used to be a clubhouse and meeting place for prominent 19th century Brooklynites who would enter the club through the two deer sculptures that once warmed up the entryway.
“The Deermar was conceived as a manifestation of the intersection of Brooklyn’s historic Park Slope neighborhood and its progressive future. The base of the design is rooted in the historical context of tree-lined streets defined by brick facades and repetitive windows filtering out into the community, while the body rises and steps up to form a beacon that defines the future of Brooklyn and its limitless perspectives.”
